About Sri Mantrapeeteshwari Peetam Swamigal

On January 17, 1984, during the auspicious month of Pushya and under the Arudra Nakshatra, Sri Swamigal was born in Bhaskara Kshetram, Kumbakonam, to the blessed parents Smt. Rama and Raja Raman. He is a proud descendant of the illustrious Periyavachan Pillai Dynasty. From a young age, Sri Swamigal showed a deep inclination towards spirituality. His parents performed his Brahmopadesham at the age of 7 and sent him to Patashala. He dedicated 8 years to studying Samaveda at Sri Raja Veda Kavya Patashala, Kumbakonam.
Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal also blessed him with a Sri Chakram (said to be 2000 years) old and idols of various deities, including Ganapati, Surya, Eshwara, Vishnu, Subramanya, and Sri Adi Shankara Bhagwadpada Paduka. (offered by maha periyava to jeyendra saraswati swamiji)








In 2004, guided by the grace of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Sri Swamigal resided at Kalavai Sri Matam Adishtanam for 4 years (became popularly known as Kalavai swamiji), conducting poojas, Durga Sapthashati Parayanam, and Sri Vidya Aradhana. During the Sri Shankara Jayanti Utsava in 2008, in the presence of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and other esteemed figures, Sri Swamigal was initiated into monastic life and given the name Sri Sadhanandendra Saraswathi, with blessings for Sri Mantrapeeteshwari Peetam.
Sri Sadhanandendra Saraswathi Swamigal subsequently embarked on a pilgrimage and, in 2015, with the support of the Radha Krishna Goshala Trust, established Sri Mantrapeeteshwari Peetam at Vyasaraghatta, also known as Hesaraghatta, in Bangalore, Karnataka. At the Peetam, Dharma Karyas and poojas of Sri Mangala Narayani Devi, Sarva Mantra Swarupini, and Sri Vidya Poojas are regularly performed. Sri Swamigal’s Parameshti Guru, Sri Anandanandanathar Painganadu Sri Sundara Shastri, was a distinguished Sri Vidya Upasaka who conferred Sri Vidya Mantra Deeksha upon Sri Kanchi Paramacharya, earning the honorific title “Mantra Murthy.”
Sri Swamigal regularly visited Sri MantrapeeteshwariSametha, Sri Adi Kumbeshwara Swami. In 1999, he received the Sri Vidya Mantra Upadesha through the grace of Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam and Sri Prakashanandanatha of Sri Purnaa Nanda Mandali. Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal also blessed him with a divya Mangala Vigraham of Sarva Mantra Swarupini Sri Mangala Narayani, which led to daily Trikal Poojas. Following the guidance of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Sri Swamigal served at Vellore Sri Narayani Peetam and stayed holy places such as Rishikesh,Tiruvannamalai, and Chidambaram, continuing his regular pooja and Veda Parayanam.

It is believed that Hesaraghatta (Vyasaraghatta) is named after Sage Vyasa because he performed tapas (spiritual penance) in this area. This act of devotion is thought to have imbued the region with spiritual significance, making it a revered site. The presence of Sage Vyasa adding a deep cultural and religious importance in the establishment of Sri Mantrapeeteshwari Peetam.
